Science Department

The Science Department of the Stutthof Museum researches various aspects of the Stutthof camp’s history and its prisoners’ fate. As per the Museum’s statute, this research not only pertains to the period of World War II and Stutthof but also encompasses other related issues on the region, such as the history of the Free City of Gdańsk (1920–1939), Gdańsk Pomerania during the German occupation, the Polish Underground State in Pomerania, and the post-war history of the memorial site. The work of historians results in books, scientific articles, and presentations. The museum also has its own scientific yearbook – “Zeszyty Muzeum Stutthof”.
