XV Memory Forum: Seminar of Polish Martyrological Museums
Behind us is the 15th Memory Forum – a seminar of Polish martyrological museums, which took place on September 4–5, 2024. The Memory Forum is an initiative aimed at exchanging experiences, insights, and innovations in education, exhibition practices, and conservation among staff of Polish museums – places of memory. The annual meetings were initiated by Piotr Tarnowski, Director of the Stutthof Museum in Sztutowo, and Piotr Cywiński, Director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim.
This year, over the course of two days, we listened to nearly 40 presentations. Among the speakers were also staff members from our museum. Dr. Danuta Drywa and Ewa Malinowska spoke about a project dedicated to the Secret Military Organization “Gryf Pomorski,” carried out in collaboration with the Educational Projects Association. Andrzej Puszczewicz from the Stutthof Museum’s Visitor Service Office shared experiences working with the IKSORIS system. Dr. Kordian Kuczma presented the concept of the new online portal, stutthof.historia.org, while Łukasz Kępski discussed his experiences in educating German youth at the Memorial Site and the collaboration in this area with the Żuławy Museum, located within the Żuławy Historical Park in Nowy Dwór Gdański.
It was an incredibly fruitful time, full of long discussions, ideas and plans for the future. See you next year!
